Smoothing Expression Lines

Understanding Expression Lines

Over time, repeated facial movement combined with natural ageing can contribute to the appearance of lines in areas such as the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes. These changes are a normal part of ageing and affect everyone differently. At Lola Room we understand that many people would like to better understand their options for smoothing expression lines. Rather than a single fixed approach, we begin by listening to what you would like to address and assessing your individual features. Our clinicians can explain the general categories of treatment that exist, what each may and may not achieve, and which considerations are relevant to you. Any treatment involving a prescription medicine can only be considered after a consultation with a qualified practitioner, who will assess your suitability and discuss potential benefits and risks. Individual results vary.

What to Expect From a Consultation

A consultation is the starting point for any discussion about treatment for expression lines. During your appointment a qualified clinician will take a full medical history, discuss your goals and assess whether any option is appropriate for you. This is also the time to ask questions and to understand what a treatment involves, including expected recovery, possible side effects and how long any effect might last for your circumstances. We think it is important that you feel fully informed before making a decision, and we will never rush that process. Where a prescription treatment may be relevant, it can only be provided following individual assessment and where clinically appropriate, in line with Australian requirements. Our aim is a natural, considered outcome that suits your face. To find out whether treatment may be suitable for you, book a consultation with our team.

    Gummy Smile

Your smile is your trademark and how you connect and show your beauty to the world. A typical “gummy smile” is where the upper lip reveals a large portion of gum beneath it. At Lola Room, we want you to have a smile you can confidently share. The intention of our gummy smile treatments is to subtly relax the top lift, offering extra coverage for your gums, aiming for a beautiful, natural smile.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure takes 15-30 minutes in total. There will always be 30 minutes allocated to the appointment time to ensure a complete medical history and consultation has taken place, as well as enough time for clinic before and after photos to be taken.

What about downtime, side effects and risks?

Downtime varies from person to person, however, as a general rule, you may experience slight swelling and tenderness at the treatment sites. Bruising is rare however, we do advise it’s not always avoidable. Majority of the inflammation often disappears as quickly as 1-3 hours following your procedure.

It is very important to remain upright and to avoid facials, massages or head down procedures for at least 4 hours. Exercise should also be avoided for the next 24 hours.
